Graze Box Review - Get 2 Free Boxes!

Leftovers are my nemesis.

If I were a superhero I would spend my days battling a villain made of Tupperware containers of fried rice and half-empty bags of nuts. And also admiring the spiffy leather boots that came with my superhero outfit.

The Importance of Informed Voting: Prepping For the Mid-Term Elections

In a scene that repeated over and over throughout my childhood, I stood in line with my parents outside the local VFW hall. My father left work early and we waited, sometimes for hours, alongside what seemed like the entire population of our small town, to vote. During that time, anticipating their turn in the polling booth, my parents would talk to my sister and I about why we were there, the voting process and the candidates.

Shoe Stories Part 2

I've mentioned a few times lately that I'm cleaning out my closet. It's the never ending project. You wouldn't believe the things I've unearthed. College dorm t-shirts, that plaid shirt I had my high-school portraits made in, and a mini skirt I wore bar hopping in the single days. I swear I saw a pair of stirrup pants out of the corner of my eye, but they fled to some far corner before I could catch them.

Dairy Free Diet: Week 3

I started out the week by cheating. Accidentally. The barista made me do it.

100 Happy Days - Week 2

The 100 Happy Days website makes a big deal of saying that most people don't finish the challenge due to time.  When I read that I was all, "That's won't be me."

And now this post is 5 days late.

Dairy-Free Diet: Week 2

It appears an alcoholic kindergartner was put it charge of meal planning this week.  Suffice to say, Week 2 of my 30-day Dairy Elimination Diet wasn't fabulous.  There were multiple meals consisting solely of wine, sugar cravings were out of control and I was seriously grumpy about the whole thing.

Homemade Frozen Meatballs

For me, pasta and meatballs is the ultimate comfort food.  For years I relied on bags of store-bought frozen meatballs, or just made meat sauce instead, because of the time it took to make homemade meatballs.  But, a few years ago I realized that if I made a big batch and froze them I could have several quick, easy meals for the work of one. There was no going back.

Shoe Stories

I’m cleaning out my closet today.  I know I said I’d finish it back on Unfinished Project Day.  But, finishing up all my half-done things in one day was a pretty lofty completely unrealistic goal.  So, I’m doing it today.  Really.  I am.  Unless I’m catching up on episodes of Sons Of Anarchy or Haven. I consider those to be completely acceptable reasons excuses.

Priority One is shoes.  I've long since lost count, but I'm pretty sure I could hang with Imelda. I love them all, but it’s a small closest and space is at a premium so some of them have to go.  And honestly, no adult needs 4 pairs of glitter shoes.

100 Days Happy - Week 1

Last Wednesday I started the 100 Happy Days challenge in an effort to find joy in everyday life. By taking a photo of something that makes me happy every day for 100 days I am hoping to focus on the little things that make me smile.

Dairy-Free Diet - Week 1

Week One of our 30-day dairy-free diet is in the books! Overall, I'm going to call it a win.

I've had no digestive issues or heartburn at all and I think my energy might be a smidge higher. I mean, I still spend most of the day wishing I were napping instead, but that could be the insomnia talking.

Unfinished Project Day

I love starting a new project.

It doesn't matter what it is... a new blog post, a craft, or a decorating or organizing project.   I love brainstorming, planning, researching and gathering up supplies. Ok - mostly I love the shopping.  Craft stores are the best. But, office supply stores are the very best.

I think it’s the sense of possibility that draws me in.  I love the idea that a new project can be anything you want it to be.  I love that wide-open feeling when you just know that this new idea is going to turn out amazing.

Lime Cilantro Chicken

Yummy and easy to make, Lime Cilantro Chicken is one of my favorite dinners. Plus, it’s dairy-free without any alterations, so it was an obvious choice for the first week of our 30-day dairy elimination diet.

100 Happy Days: Remembering What Makes Me Smile

I've been seeing #100HappyDays making it’s way around my Facebook feed recently.  First, let me say…. hashtags. No. But, this one had me intrigued, so I googled.

I instantly fell in love with what I found.
